Blasphemous Story

The story of Blasphemous begins with the nightmarish event that claimed the lives of the members of the Brotherhood of the Silent Sorrow, except for one. The Brotherhood is strongly opposed to the Last Son of The Miracle, Escribar, and has ordered their massacre. The Penitent One, and the last of his kind, awakens to find the now-lifeless bodies of his brothers. He finds his sword among the bodies and sets forth on a journey.

Blasphemous is a Metroidvania hardcore action game that takes place in a fictional land called Cvstodia. Players will take on the role of The Penitent One, a knight who has taken "the silent vow" and wields an ultimate sword known as Mea Culpa. The Penitent One goes on a journey to seek salvation or one that might lead him into damnation.

The game involves exploring the different landscapes in Cvstodia while platforming and fighting Enemies. You will face many twisted creatures that have been cursed by The Miracle and who have turned into bloodthirsty creatures. With his ultimate sword, the Penitent One will battle anyone that will attempt to block his way forward. The Penitent One will gain different Abilities and Stats that will aid him in his journey.

Each of the Enemies that he will be facing has a different attack pattern and challenges the players to dodge and, or parry their attacks. Timing is essential in surviving and players must do their best to avoid getting damaged as Health regeneration is very scarce, especially at the beginning. Many of these attacks, when parried at the right time, will leave the enemy to be vulnerable and will give The Penitent One a short window for a counter-attack that will deal fatal damage to enemies.

Locate and equip relics, rosary beads, and prayers that call on the powers of the heavens to aid you in your quest to break your eternal damnation.
