Strategy Writeup

After defeating His Holiness Escribar, you'll immediately be ported to the arena of the true boss, the Last Son of the Miracle. Once the battle starts, his golden dagger will appear. Always remember that when the dagger appears, aim for the eye for it to disappear and for the mask of the Last Son to open up which reveals its crimson face. This Crimson Face is the only weak spot of the Escribar. Not only that, you'll have to use the platforms to reach his face in order to land your attacks.

The Last Son of the Miracle has multiple and quite fast projectiles, although he can only telegraph the attacks one at a time only. For the lightning bolt attacks, make sure to dodge away to avoid getting hit by the blasts. As for the purple laser beams, you'll have enough time to identify its position since it will gather purple particles before it opens up into a large vertical beam.

In conjunction with the purple symbols, this boss can also trick you into using a missile attack instead. If you watch closely, you'll notice that instead of the purple particles that gather on the ground. Two purple orbs will appear at the same spot where the purple symbols were and will start to shoot out the missiles in a diagonal position, to avoid this, just walk to the middle of the arena just below the boss. As for the toxic orbs, you can deflect these or use the platforms to hide underneath it so that it bursts once it hits it.

The only attack you'll need to be careful is the Fireballs, since it has multiple fireballs that shoot out towards you, you'll want to walk to the end of the arena then run to the opposite direction then use the platforms to jump around it to avoid getting hit.

Use opportunities like the purple beam attack to land multiple hits on its crimson face. At some point, its mask will close and the dagger will reappear, just remember to aim for the eye that's on the weapon for it to disappear and the mask will reopen to reveal the Last Son's crimson face.

If you defeat the boss you will see the writing "SUMMA BLASPHEMIA" upon the screen, the crimson face will melt and Escribar's mutated crimson body will appear. You'll be rewarded with  20 as well as unlocking the Trophy/Achievement: Summa Blasphemia.

Last Son of the Miracle Lore

Last Son of the Miracle is the true form of His Holiness Escribar. His appearance is covered by metal regalia where you can also see a necklace that seems to be Escribar's human body enclosed in glass. He was transformed by the Miracle into a creature after the events of The Turned and the Burnt Tree.

"The great dry tree into which His Holiness was transformed by work and grace of the Miracle burned in a night of heavy storms. It burned for ninety days, and as it was consumed, it left an enormous pile of ashes that covered the cathedral’s main ambulatory tower, leaving His Holiness’ Turned Throne on the top. All those who were present, and those who arrived and tried to climb to the summit, were swallowed by the ashes. And the cathedral fell silent."

"The wind blew strongly through the fractures of the cathedral that the Great Tree had originated, lifting the ash creating dense gray clouds, hiding the whole Mother Church and drowning her in a deep darkness of lead. The ground began to tremble. Then a terrible cry was heard from the depths of the mountain of ash. And that cry was joined by more and more. Guttural screams, animal roars, monsters, and one which was heard above all: the scream of all old man, which resounded gravely, as out of the throat of a giant."

"All those who were once swallowed by the ashes emerged from it in great hordes: the Hordes of the Miracle, the Punished. With only faith in their minds and only rage in their guts. Willing to punish all those who had escaped from such a holy fate, from the will of the Miracle itself."

"Watch them. Watch as they climb up the burning ash. Watch how they crawl like hungry beasts. The ash swallows them up one by one, insatiable. Such is the faith that the Miracle stirs in them. It makes them climb towards the Turned Throne by promising them a communion that will, indeed, happen, but not in the way they expect. Soon, when all of them have been swallowed up, they will be reborn, filled with faith that neither you nor I will ever get to comprehend."
