Strategy Writeup

This boss is considered to be the weakest and easiest boss players can handle since it isn't his true form. Escribar has the ability to teleport and move around the arena, so once he disappears and reappears, use the opportunity to strike him since he has a recovery time before he telegraphs an attack.

He has three attacks, conjuring toxic orbs, elemental orbs, and purple projectiles. For all of these, it can be evaded by sliding, ducking, and jumping at the right time. The Toxic Orbs can be deflected but the rest of the attacks cannot be hit or blocked. This boss has low health, so try to save your healing items and take the time for that opportunity to land a couple of attacks and focus on evading his projectile attacks.

If you defeat the boss, Escribar reveals his true form and you'll be transported to the arena of the final boss, Last Son of the Miracle.

Attacks & Counters

Attack Counter
Phase 1
Toxic Orbs Escribar telegraphs this attack by conjuring green toxic orbs. You can deflect them and can easily be dodged by dashing and jumping.
Elemental Orbs Escribar conjures either Fireballs or Lightning orbs, simply watch its positioning and use the gaps to either duck, dash, or jump to avoid it. These cannot be hit or blocked.
Purple Missiles Escribar shoots out multiple purple missiles. The first projectile will be at head level, followed by feet level, so duck first then jump to avoid getting hit.
Phase 2
True Form Once his health reaches zero, he'll reveal his true form which is the final boss, Last Son of the Miracle.

His Holiness Escribar Lore

"The great dry tree into which His Holiness was transformed by work and grace of the Miracle burned in a night of heavy storms. It burned for ninety days, and as it was consumed, it left an enormous pile of ashes that covered the cathedral's main ambulatory tower, leaving His Holiness' Turned Throne on the top. All those who were present, and all those who arrived and tried to climb to the summit, were swallowed by the ashes. And the cathedral fell silent."

"The wind blew strongly through the fractures of the cathedral that the Great Tree had originated, lifting the ash creating dense gray clouds, hiding the whole Mother Church and drowning her in a deep darkness of lead. The ground began to tremble. Then a terrible cry was heard from the depths of the mountain of ash. And that cry was joined by more and more. Guttural screams, animal roars, monsters, and one which was heard above all: the scream of an old man, which resounded gravely, as out of the throat of a giant."

"All those who once were swallowed by the ashes emerged from it in great hordes: the Hordes of the Miracle, the Punished. With only faith in their minds and only rage in their guts. Willing to punish all those who had escaped from such a holy fate, from the will of the Miracle itself."
