Thorn is a Quest Item in Blasphemous. Thorn is used to unlock the true ending of the game. Quest Items are specifically found in specific areas of a Location, given by an NPC, or are obtained as a reward from defeating a boss.
Small gift from Deogracias, nailed into the effigy of the Twisted under the guard of your sword. The thorns arised from the Miracle feed on sin and guilt, growing with the burden that its bearer carries.
Deogracias' Farewell
"Brother Abbot, you know that I have been a scribe in this abbey since I was but a wee child. I have written about our church, our saints and our Miracle of the Greatest Pain. I must inform you that I have made the decision to leave, although I intend to continue writing. In these walls I cannot be a true witness of the works of the Miracle. I need to appreciate with my own eyes your holy works. I will be a teller of the Miracle wherever it takes me, rain or shine, or scorching sand under my bare feet."
Thorn Usage
- Used to obtain the true ending.
- The Thorn has 7 other stages that it can transform into. The following stages are:
- Thorn
- Budding Sprout
- Grown Sprout
- Thorny Briar
- Bloodstained Briar
- Crimson Briar
- Vine Braided in Blood
- Cvstodia of Sin
- In order for each form to evolve and eventually reaching its final version, you'll need to break the Statues of Confessors, enter the portal and reach the dungeon by using the Immaculate Bead that has been transformed into the Weight of True Guilt and complete the trial by fighting and surviving the waves of enemies - do this before fighting His Holiness Escribar.
