Rosary Beads in Blasphemous are items that add perks to The Penitent One's stats. Rosary Beads are perks that improve various stats of The Penitent One such as an increase of defense, health, Fervor, and many more. At the start of the game, The Penitent One can only equip two rosary beads, but as the game progresses, players can find Knots to unlock more slots allowing you to equip more rosary beads. Rosary Beads, as well as Knots can be obtained as loot found at specified areas of a location, given by NPCs, as quest rewards, boss drops, and can also be purchased from Merchants. How to Equip Rosary Beads in Blasphemous
To equip a Rosary Bead in Blasphemous, simply open your inventory and switch to the Rosary Beads tab. From here, you will be able to change the active Rosary Beads in your arsenal. Rosary Beads are found across Cvstodia waiting to be found, and there are also Beads that are part of a reward for doing a quest.

Types of Rosary Beads
Each of the Rosary Beads all have a different effect on The Penitent One, but they can be categorized into 3 types:
- Offensive
- Defensive
- Utility
The Rosary Beads provide Offensive, Defensive, and Utility effects to The Penitent One. Offensive types will modify the strength of The Penitent One's attacks, while the Defensive types will increase his protection against damage, and lastly, any of the Rosary Beads that do not fall under the 2 categories will go to Utility which covers vital effects such as for flasks, navigation, Fervor, and more.
Unlocking Slots of Rosary Beads
To unlock additional slots for Rosary Beads in Blasphemous, you need to locate a Knot of Rosary Rope. At the beginning of the game, The Penitent One can equip only 2 rosary beads. With the additional slots, you can get a total of 8 Rosary Beads equipped for your character. Knots of Rosary Rope are oftentimes found as you explore the game, it is part of rewarding players for exploring hidden rooms and such.
Once you have collected at least one of the knots, look for an NPC named Engracia hidden inside a room beneath Brotherhood of the Silent Sorrow. You can access this hidden room after navigating Jondo and Mountains of the Endless Dusk. Give her the Knot of Rosary Rope that you have found and she will unlock new slots of Rosary Beads for The Penitent One.
Where to Get Knot of Rosary Ropes in Blasphemous
- Jondo - Obtained after solving the bell puzzle.
- Grievance Ascends - You'll find this in the section that has poisonous gas and collapsible floors.
- Albero - Given by Tirso after giving him the last item he needs.
- Graveyard of the Peaks - Jump on top of the lift that takes you from Albero to Graveyard of Peaks
- The Holy Line - Found below a breakable floor, but must have Blood Perpetuated in Sand and Nail Uprooted from Dirt equipped in order to reach it.
- Mother of Mothers - Given by Redento once he reaches the end of his pilgrimage.
