Full Archcathedral Rooftops Walkthrough

Archcathedral Rooftops is the eighteenth level in Blasphemous. In this area, you will fight Enemies such as Acolyte, Processioner, Seraph, Soldier of the Anointed Legion, and a variation of the Winged Face. You will be facing off against Crisanta of the Wrapped Agony, a boss in Blasphemous. You will find 3 Prie Dieu Locations in this area.

Note: To fully explore this area, you will need Blood Perpetuated in Sand and Three Gnarled Tongues. These relics will help reveal platforms to access new areas. If you don't have these relics yet, it is recommended to go back and gather them first before proceeding.

To gain access to Archcathedral Rooftops, return to Mother of Mothers and exit through the top left corner. Make sure to activate the Prie Dieu in this section, then, follow the path to the right and climb the platforms. Here, you will see a variation of the Winged Face. Its attacks are similar to the original version except this time, there are 4 faces attached to the monster. They will also shoot out 4 orb attacks periodically. Continue exploring going upwards, then to the right. Proceed to the door where you will encounter an Acolyte, Processioner, and a caged Seraph. Follow the path toward the right section of the map and you will meet more of the same enemy types here.

Continue to head to the right where you will see a statue, then enter the door to the right once more. Here, you will fight the first Soldier of the Anointed Legion, who will drop the Mark of the First Refuge, which is a Quest Item needed to progress the story. This is a mini-boss so be wary of its attacks. The enemy wields a mace and its attack patterns consist of a Spinning Bludgeon and a Quick Strike. You can dash under him to dodge the Spinning Attack, and then time the dodge for the Quick Strike. After defeating the enemy, continue going to the right side of the area where you will be fighting the same types of enemies as earlier.

When you reach a platform with a ladder going down, follow that path, then head to the left for another Prie Dieu. This will help you immensely in saving your progress in this section. Then, after activating it, head downwards to activate a lever. This lever will extend a ladder to give you access to Mother of Mothers. Go back up to the Prie Dieu that you have activated, then walk towards the left section to pick up the Heart of Oils. Return to the platform that you were on before heading downwards to continue exploring Archcathedral Rooftops. In this area, Blood Perpetuated in Sand will be needed to reveal the blood platforms going up. Make sure to equip it in this section. The Silvered Lung of Dolphos is optional but recommended here to reduce poison damage as you navigate the platforms.

Continue heading upwards and then enter the first door you see to the right. You will encounter Lady of the Six Sorrows here, interact with her to increase your maximum health. Then, return to the platforms but this time, explore the left section going upwards. An orb will be fired consistently by a Winged Face as you travel, and there's also a spike below that will instakill you. Make sure to time your jumps across the walls here. Once you reach the top of this platform, you can jump to the other side and attack the contraption to open the gate above you. Afterward, you can now head back down from where you first entered this area.

Return to the statue that you walked past earlier and then hand over the Deformed Mask of Orestes and the Embossed Mask of Crescente. By doing this, you will reactivate the two levers on each side of the statue. Activate the right lever to go up, then go out through the right door. You will fight another Soldier of the Anointed Legion but this time, it will be accompanied by a Seraph. Once defeated, it will drop the Mark of the Second Refuge. Continue going to the right section where you will fight more 2 Seraph. The gate behind them will be closed until you kill these two enemies. Be careful on your way to the next door, as there will be spikes and very little floor area. 

Ride the lift going up, then navigate the platform on the right section as you go up. You will be needing Blood Perpetuated in Sand to reach the higher areas to pick up Lunate of Keiya, The Butcher, which is a collectible. Head back down, then this time, navigate the left section going upwards. Be careful of the projectile attacks coming from a Winged Face in this area. In the top section, destroy the contraption that will open the gate above you. Afterward, head back down to where you first entered. Be careful of the spikes that you might hit as you go down. Follow the path to the left, past the statue, and onto another, door, until you reach an area where you will fight multiple Seraphs.

After killing the enemies, continue going to the left and destroy the contraption that you see upon entering this section. There is a lift moving between the ledge and before you cross, jump down but hold on to the left ledge then reach for the lower right platform. You will find  Ribs of Sabnock, The Guardian here. Head back up, then follow the path to the left. Outside, you will be navigating a spiked platform, while dodging attacks from multiple Winged Face. Take your time exploring here, and try to eliminate the Enemies from a distance if you can. Once you reach the area with a ladder going down, use that ladder and navigate the area going downwards. Break the contraption here and then make your way to the bottom of this area. Go through the door to the left to activate another Prie Dieu. Now, return to the top of this platform again.

Continue following the path going to your left where you will fight a duo of Processioner and a caged Seraph. Once eliminated, head to the left door to reach the Wall of Holy Prohibitions. Continue the path going to the left, where you will see a burnt corpse, and then, a mini-boss fight. Once defeated, continue exploring the left section to activate a Prie Dieu. This will not cause the mini-bosses to respawn so it's safe to do so. Then, you will now return to Archcathedral Rooftops by following the path to the right section. Return to the statue with the elevator, then use the right lever to go up. 

Once you're at the top, follow the path going to the right section until you will face the third Soldier of the Anointed Legion and 2 Seraphs. After defeating them, you will receive the Mark of the Third Refuge , and the gate to the right will be opened. Keep going to the right until you see a Mea Culpa Shrine. Do some upgrades or learn new skills while you're here. When you're done, return to the elevator with a statue, then head out through the left door. Follow the path going to the left to activate a Prie Dieu. Return to the first ledge upon entry into this area, then drop down. Make sure that you have Three Gnarled Tongue equipped so you don't fall into a pit.

When you have safely landed, follow the path to the left where you will navigate the section going downwards with the help of root platforms activated by the use of Three Gnarled Tongue. Your goal is to exit to the left section until you find a treasure containing Cante Jondo of the Three Sisters - Prayer. Navigate the platforms here to go to the bottom. There are spikes at the bottom so you need to be careful. Break the contraption here then head back up. Return to the ladder that you activated earlier to take you to Mother of Mothers. Hand all three Marks of the Refuge to Socorro. She can be found at the right section as you enter Mother of Mothers from the Archcathedral Rooftops ladder. After giving her all the marks, she will vanish and then speak to Cleofas who is watching by her side. Now that Socorro is gone, Cleofas will begin questioning the purpose of his life.

After this encounter, make your way again to the elevator and then ride it to go to the top level of the area where you will fight Crisanta of the Wrapped Agony.

Boss Fight: Crisanta of The Wrapped Agony

• Sword Slash - A swift-motion attack done by swinging her sword in front of her. This attack can be parried.
• Quick Slash - Crisanta will swing her sword forward as she lunges. This allows her to close the distance between you. This attack can be parried or dodged.
• Blink Strike - Crisanta will begin to vanish from the fight and will teleport in random areas to perform a quick strike. This attack is best evaded or dodged.
• Sword Storm - This movement starts with a spin as she flies upwards, and will then fly towards The Penitent One's direction. This attack will also explode around its landing area during the second phase. This attack is best guarded.

Crisanta is a knight who is blindly devoted to The Miracle. She is willing to give up her life and will fight The Penitent One to death. She stands before The Penitent One in hopes to delay his journey here. In order to defeat Crisanta of the Wrapped Agony, players will need to master both parry and dodge. She has moves that are similar to The Penitent One, but her attacks are more devastating. The key here is to time your jumps to effectively dodge her attacks.

When parrying, make sure that you will not leave any openings for her to attack, as it will be followed up by a quick slash. When her health reaches about 25%, her attacks will have exploding effects leaving you with smaller space for dodging. Once her health further drops down to zero, she will renew her penance and she will regain her full health, entering her second phase.

During the second phase, she will have almost the same attacks, but with more explosions. This boss fight is pretty straightforward with lots of parrying. She will also gain the Blink Strike attack wherein she can teleport anywhere on the battlefield and then execute a quick slash. Once defeated, she will ask you to purge her soul by freeing her from the chains binding her to the miracle. She will later proclaim that her faith and soul are wounded. She will escape and return to the chapel where the first kneeling took place. If you defeat the boss you will see the writing "REQUIEM AETERNAM" on the screen and you'll be rewarded with  18000 as well as unlocking the Trophy/Achievement: Faith Off.
